A grandfather imparts his knowledge of and love for his country to his grandson by leaving him a trunk filled with a globe, telescope, maps, books, photographs, and notebooks filled with stories of things he learned on his travels. After perusing the contents over and over, the grandson decides to write a "geography" that reads like a story.
