Davidson, Thomas, b. 1840, at Deer, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and educated at the University of Aberdeen; was rector of the grammar-school of Old Aberdeen 1860-63, and, after holding some positions in English schools, removed to the United States in 1867, and in 1875 settled in Cambridge, Mass. He has visited Greece and Italy, and passed more than a year at Domodossola, in Piedmont, where the Institute of Charity founded by Rosmini has its novitiate.
