The thanks of the meeting were then voted to the Auditors and to the Treasurer; also to Sir Oswald Mosley, bart., for the able manner in which he had performed the duties of the office of president during the past year, and to the Secretaries, Registrar, and Council for their services. A vote of thanks was also given to Mr. Lott for his particular attention to the Association in their examination of the city antiquities.

The Chairman appointed Messrs. Armistead and Wright scrutators; and the Society proceeded to ballot for officers and council for the ensuing year, whereupon the following were declared to be elected :

Excursions will be made on the TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, and FRIDAY to Newstead Abbey-Lincoln-Worksop-Clum

ber-Belvoir-Hawton-Southwell-Thurgarton-Nottingham-and other places, which when arranged will be announced in a future Programme.

ON FRIDAY there will be a Public Dinner; and on SATURDAY a closing Meeting in the Town Hall.

**A Programme will be issued of each Day's Proceedings.

Several Papers, proposed to be read, either at the Evening Meetings, or at the places to which they refer, have already been announced, and others are in course of preparation. The Council will, however, be glad to receive the communication of any others, that gentlemen, either of the Association, or residents in the neighbourhood of the Congress, may be desirous of communicating. Among those already fixed, of local interest, may be enumerated :
