Preface. THE present Catalogue has been prepared upon the plan of that of 1860, as to which see its Preface printed herewith. In noticing in the Index the Local Statutes, reference has been made to the page, and not merely to the number in the Catalogue. The Index has been made fuller, and in several instances, in giving the name of an Author as treating upon any subject where there has been any legislative alteration made, attention has been directed to the Statute. For an instance, see title "Reversion." It may perhaps be useful to observe that the folio edition of the Statutes, published since 1852, contains a Classified Index of the Local and Personal Acts, as also Tables showing the effect of the legislation for the year.
