This still unfinished work remained without arrangement after the death of the author. When the stock passed in the hands of Mr. B. Quaritch, he had titles pages printed to the work with a collation or key to it. This explains that volumes II-VII bear the date of 1852, notwithstanding that they were published about 20 years earlier.
