AMENDED ORDER

Before this Court is a verified Petition for Judicial Naturalization of Lee Chi-Yu also know as James Lee and James Lee Chi-Yu praying that the instant petition be granted and that the petitioner Lee Chi Yu be naturalized as a Filipino citizen and be henceforth vested with all rights and obligations appurtenant to such Filipino citizenship, in accordance with pertinent laws, rules and regulations.

The petition alleges that petitioner's full real name is Lee Chi-Yu (his mother's maiden name is Lim); that he has also been identified and know in English names, i.e., "James Lee" and James Lee Chi-Yu"; that he was born in Taichung City, Taiwan Republic of China on 27 September 1981, of which country he is considered by law

as a citizen since birth and to which he is considered by law to have allegiance up to the present; that Taiwan Republic of China. is a country which is' not at war with the Philippines; that he is now twenty nine (29) years old, and therefore meets the age requirement (twenty-one [21] years old on the day of the hearing of the petition) under Commonwealth Act 473 (Revised Naturalization Law) as amended, and other pertinent laws, rules and regulations; he graduated with a degree in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Santo Tomas, and looks 'forward to practicing his medical profession in the Philippines, in the future; that he stands 5'7" in height, weighs 180 lbs., with black eyes and hair, has fair complexion, and without any visible distinguishing mark; that his last foreign address was at No. 379 3rd Section Hue Chong Road, Nantun District, Taichung City, Taiwan, Republic of China; that he came to the Philippines for the first time on August 03, 1994 and was admitted as an alien/temporary visitor; at present he resides at 372-A, Emiliano Street, Cuadra Compound, Sta. Quiteria,Caloocan City, which has been his address since year 2000; that he has been permanently residing in the Philippines for at least fifteen (15) years interrupted only by a few brief trips abroad for leisure; that he intends to reside permanently and continuously in the Philippines from the date of filing of this petition and up to the time of his admission to Philippine citizenship; that he has been granted a series of visas for permanent residence showing the legality of his status in the Philippines; that he owns properties of suitable kind and substantial values, to ensure his financial support in the Philippines; that likewise, he has substantial business interest that will guarantee his economic sufficiency and

financial security during his stay in the Philippines; that he is single and has no children; that, however, he manifests that, should he have children in the future, he shall enroll them only in public or private school duly recognized by the Department of Education where Philippine history, government and civics are taught or prescribed as part of the school curriculum; that he is of good moral character and has never been charged with, tried for, or convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude; that he has conducted himself in a proper and irreproachable manner during the entire period of his residence in the Philippines, in his relation with the constituted government and with the community in which he lives; that he has mingled socially with Filipinos and has actually learned and embraced the customs traditions and ideals of the Filipinos; that he believes in the principles underlying the Philippine Constitution; that he is not opposed to organized government nor is he affiliated with any association of group of persons who uphold and teach doctrines opposing all organized governments; that he is not a person who promotes, defends or teaches the necessity or propriety of violence, personal assault, or assassination for the success and predominance of his ideas; that he is not a polygamist or a believer in the practice of polygamy; that he is not suffering from mental alienation or serious/incurable contagious disease; that he can speak, write, and understand Filipino, which he has consistently used in his day-to-day communication, both home and outside, that he has complied with the requirements under C.A. 473 regarding the filing with the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) of an Affidavit of bona fide intention to become a citizen of the Philippines; that he has not heretofore filed a petition for naturalization with any court in any place in the Philippines; that indeed, he has all the

qualifications and none of the disqualifications for judicial naturalization under C.A. 473, and other applicable laws, rules and regulations in the Philippines; that once he is admitted to Philippine citizenship, he shall absolutely and forever renounce his allegiance and fidelity to any foreign

prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, particularly Taiwan Republic of China, of which at this time he is a citizen or subject; and that in support of his petition, he submits the sworn statements of the following individuals, who are all Filipino citizens and reputable and credible members of the society, attesting to the foregoing matters in favor of his naturalization and who shall appear and testify in favor of the petition in the course of the hearing.

1. Dr. Jean Go Du, with postal address at No. 10 Samuel Street, Brgy. Bungad, San Francisco, del Monte, Quezon City;

2. Dr. Kathleen Joy P. Garcia, with postal address at No. 50 Gold Street, Filinvest II, Batasan Hills, Quezon City;

3. Dr. Haidee Michelle Go Lim, with postal address at No. 24 Cairo Street, BF Homes Phase 3, Parañaque City; and

4. Mr. Edwin Ong Lim with postal address at No. 14 Joy Street, Brgy. Balingasa, Grace Village, Quezon City.

Wherefore, finding the petition to be sufficient in form and substance, let the instant petition be set for hearing on September 13, 2012 at 8:30 in the morning before this Court sitting at 2nd Floor, Judicial Complex, 10th Avenue, Caloocan City, where any interested person may show their opposition, if any why this petition should not be granted.

Let copy of this Order and the petition, together with the annexes attached thereto, be published once (1) a week for three (3) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation and in the Official Gazette and be posted by the process server of this Court at three (3) conspicuous public places at the expense of the petitioner.

Furnish copy of this Order and the petition the Office of the Solicitor General. SO ORDERED.

PETITIONER, THROUGH THE UNDERSIGNED COUNSEL, unto this Honorable Court, most respectfully alleges:

1. Petitioner's full real name is LEE CHI

Yu (his mother's maiden surname is Lim). He has also been identified and known in his English names, i.e., "JAMES LEE" and "JAMES LEE CHI-YU".

2. He was born In Taichung City, Taiwan Republic of China, on 27 September 1981, of which country he is considered by law as a citizen since birth and to which he is considered by law to have allegiance up to the present. Taiwan Republic of China is a country which is not at war with the Philippines.

3. He is now Twenty-Nine (29) Years Old, and therefore meets the age requirement (twenty-one [21] years old on the day of the hearing of this petition) under Commonwealth Act 473 ("Revised Naturalization Law") ("C.A. 473"), as amended, and other pertinent laws, rules and regulations.

4. He graduated with a degree in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), España, Manila, and looks forward to practicing his medical profession in the

China.

7. He came to the Philippines for the first time on August 03, 1994, via Eva Air Br 271 which landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, at which he was lawfully admitted as an alien/temporary visitor. Copies of the relevant pages of his old passport, showing his personal data, and date/status of admission upon first arrival, and authorized stay, are attached hereto and made integral parts hereof as Annexes “B”/”B-1", et seq. A certification of his arrivals/departures in the Philippines (showing his first arrival in the country, as stated above), issued by the BI, is also attached hereto and made an integral part hereof as Annex "C".

8. At present, he resides at 372-A, Emillano St., Cuadra Compound, Sta. Quiteria, Caloocan City, which has been his address since year 2000.

9. He has been permanently residing in the Philippines for at least Fifteen (15) Years, interrupted only by a few brief trips abroad, for leisure. He intends to reside permanently and continuously in the Philippines from the date of filing of this petition and up to the time of his admission to Philippine citizenship.

10. He has been granted a series of visas for permanent residence, showing the legality of his status in the Philippines, as may be evidenced primarily by the following documents; his old passport, showing the stamp as dependent of his mother's SIRV (Annexes "B-2"/"B-3"); Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) No. E067380, indicating.

Certificate of Residence No. 044123, issued by the BI (Annexes "D"/"D-1"); and Order issued by the BI granting his own current SIRV (Annexes "E" to "E-2"), as well as his recent and current passports showing the stamp of his own current SIRV (Annexes "F" & "G", with sub-annexes).

11. He owns properties of suitable kind and substantial value, to ensure his financial

support in the Philippines. Likewise, he has substantial business interest that will guarantee his economic sufficiency and financial security during his stay in the Philippines.

.12. He is single and has no children. However, he manifest that, should he have children in the future, he shall enroll them only in a public or private school duly recognized by the Department of Education, where Philippine history, government and civics are taught or prescribed as part of

the school curriculum.

13. He is of good moral character, and has never been charged with, tried for, or convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude. He has conducted himself in a proper and irreproachable manner during the entire period of his residence in the Philippines, in his relation with the constituted government and with the community in which he lives. He has mingled socially with Filipinos, and has actually learned and embraced the customs, traditions and ideals of the Filipinos.

13.a. A copy of his latest clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is attached hereto and made an integral part hereof as Annex "H".

14. He believes in the principles underlying the Philippine Constitution. He is Not opposed to organized government nor is he affiliated with any association or group of persons who uphold and teach doctrines opposing all organized governments. He is NOT a person who promotes, defends or teaches the necessity or propriety of violence, personal assault, or assassination for the success and predominance of his ideas.

15. He is not a polygamist or a believer in the practice of polygamy.

16. He is not suffering from mental alienation or serious/incurable contagious disease.

17. He can speak, write, and understand Filipino, which he has consistently used in his day-to-day communication, both at home and outside.

21. Once he is admitted to Philippine citizenship, he shall absolutely and forever renounce his allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state sovereignty, particularly to Taiwan Republic of China, of which at this time he is a citizen or subject,

22. In support of this petition, he submits herewith the sworn statements of the

following individuals, who are all Filipino members of the society, attesting to the citizens and reputable and credible members of the society, attesting to the foregoing matters in favor of his naturalization (Annexes "J"-"M"), and who shall appear and testify in favor of the petition in the course of the hearing of this

case:

a. Dr. Jean Go Du, with postal address at No. 10 Samuel Street, Brgy. Bungad, San Francisco, del Monte, Quezon City;
