Before this Court is the Amended Petition for Naturalization filed by TERESITA GUADALUPE CHUA, through counsel. TERESITA GUADALUPE CHUA is of legal age, married and a resident of San Julio Subdivision, Barangay II, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. She was born on December 12, 1956 at the then Municipality of San Carlos (now City of San Carlos), Negros Occidental, Philippines. Eden N. Ledesma, of legal age, married and residing at Nangka Street, San Julio Subdivision, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, and Diomedes C. Cajigas, of legal age, widower and residing at 160 Broce Street, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, who are both Filipino citizens will appear and testify as witnesses for the Petitioner at the hearing of this Amended Petition.

Finding the Amended Petition to be sufficient in form and substance, Notice is hereby given that the Amended Petition will be set for hearing on September 27, 2012, at 8:30 o'clock in the morning, in Branch 58, Regional Trial Court, Hall of Justice, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, at which place, date and time, all interested persons may appear and oppose said Amended Petition.

AMENDED PETITION

Comes Now the petitioner, by counsel, to this Honorable Court, most respectfully Alleges:

1. THAT petitioner's full name is TERESITA GUADALUPE CHUA;

2. THAT her present place of residence is San Julio Subdivision, Barangay 2, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental;

3. THAT she was born on December 12, 1956 at the then Municipality of San Carlos (now a city), Negros Occidental, Philippines, under whose laws Filipinos may become naturalized citizens;

4. THAT she is married to Edgardito V. Tan, and is the mother of four (4) children;

5. THAT her husband is fifty-four (54) years old, having been born on May 25, 1955 in Quezon City, Philippines;

6. THAT the names, sex, dates and places of birth and the residences of each of her children are as follows, to wit:

6.1. Giancarlo C. Tan, male, born on January 3, 1983, Cebu City, Philippines, where he is presently residing;

6.2. Tiffany Katrina C. Tan, female, born on December 14, 1983, Cebu City, Philippines, where she is presently residing;

6.3. Brian Martin C. Tan, male, born on September 8, 1986, Cebu City, Philippines, where he is presently residing;

6.4. Andrei Joseph C. Tan, male, born on September 6, 1990, Cebu City, Philippines, where he is presently residing;

7. THAT petitioner was born in the Philippines;

8. THAT she has resided continuously in the Philippines since birth, or for not less than ten (10) years as a permanent resident immediately preceding the date of this petition, and in this city for at least one year;

9. THAT she is exempted from the requirement of filing a declaration of intention with the Office of the Solicitor

General of her bona-fide intention to become a citizen of the Philippines, having and received primary and secondary education in the Philippines and has resided at least thirty (30) years in the country since birth in 1956;

10. THAT she speaks and writes English and Tagalog, and the Visayan dialect;

11. THAT her trade is that of managing co-owner of a family-owned grocery store in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, in which she has been engaged since graduating from college, and from which she derives an annual income sufficient for her family needs;

12. THAT all four (4) children of petitioner went to schools, colleges, and universities in the Philippines where Philippine history, government, and civics were taught as part of the school curricula, said schooling lasted during the entire period of her required residence in the Philippines;

13. THAT she believes in the principles underlying the Philippine Constitution, is of good moral character, and had conducted herself in a proper and irreproachable manner during the entire period of her residence in the Philippines in her relations with the constituted government, as well as with the community in which she lives; has mingled socially with the Filipinos, and has evinced a genuine desire to learn and embrace the customs, traditions, and ideas of the Filipinos;

14. THAT she is not opposed to organized government or affiliated with any association or group of persons who uphold and teach doctrines opposing all organized government; that she does not defend or teach the necessity or propriety of violence, personal assault, or assignation for the success and predominance of their ideas; that she is not a polygamist or a believer in polygamy or in the practice of polygamy; that she has never been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude; that she is not suffering from mental alienation or incurable disease, and that she is not a citizen or subject of a nation at war with the Philippines;
