men, Servants, Workmen, and Labourers, and all other Perfons whatsoever employed in the making of Felts or Hats, or in or about any of the Manufactures of Silk, Mohair, Furr, Hemp, Flax, Linen, Cotton, Fustian, Iron, or Leather, or in or about any Manufactures made up of Wool, Furr, Hemp, Flax, Cotton, Mohair, or Silk, or of any of the faid Materials mixed one with another, in as full and ample Manner as the faid Provifions, Regulations, Pains, Penalties, and Forfeitures, are by the faid laft-mentioned Act declared to extend to the feveral and respective Persons therein named; and the Penalties and Pains, Penalties, and Forfeitures, which Forfeitures to fhall be incurred by reason of any Offence and levied, as committed against the said last-mentioned in the faid A&t Act, by any Perfon or Perfons employed or concerned in or about any of the faid Manufactures, herein before enumerated, fhall be inflicted, levied, and recovered, in the fame Manner as the Pains, Penalties, and Forfeitures, contained in the said laft in Part recited Act, are directed to be inflicted, levied, and recovered, upon and against the several and refpective Perfons therein mentioned.

AND be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the BounIrish Linens ties on the Exportation of British and Irish coarfe Linens, fhall continue to be paid in the like Manner, and under the like Regulations as directed by the Acts of the 15th and 16th, and of the 18th Years of his Majefty's Reign, from and after the Twentyfifth Day of March, One thousand seven hundred and fifty, for and during the further Term of Three Years, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion of Parliament, and that the fame be paid out of fuch Part of the old Subfidies as is

An ACT for explaining, amending, and enforcing, an Act passed in the Thirteenth Year of his late Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the better Regulation of the Linen and Hempen Manufactures in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland; and for further regulating and encouraging the faid Manufactures.

Preamble. $1. WHEREAS by an Act paffed in the

Thirteenth Year of the Reign

of His late Majefty King George the First, (intituled, An Act for the better Regulation of the Linen and Hempen Manufactures in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland), certain Rules and Regulations were established for encouraging and improving of the faid Manufactures, and for preventing of Frauds and Abufes in the fame : And whereas the faid Rules and Regulations have been found ufeful and beneficial, and have been a Means of improving the faid Manufactures, which might be still brought to greater Perfection, and

be further extended, if fome Parts of the faid Act were explained, amended, and enforced, and further Regulations eftablished May it therefore please Your Majefty, that it may be enacted; and be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That all and every Person and Perfons who fhall import, or caufe to Importers of be imported, into any Port or Place in bad, mixed, Scotland, any bad, mixed, or damnified Lintfeed, or Lintfeed or Hempfeed, or any Lintfeed or or Short LintHempfeed which fhall not be thoroughly feed, cleanfed, or any Lintfeed commonly called or known by the Name of Short Lintfeed, he and they fhall, for every fuch Offence, forfeit fuch Lintfeed or Hempfeed, and fhall alfo be fubject and liable
