The fame. Nath. born at Gainbrough, July 1703, dyed at York, Nov. 1, 1770.

The fame.

Squire, Robert, of the City of York, Efq; and Prifcilla his Wife, a Man whofe good Nature, good Senfe and Generofity rendered him most perfect in all the relative Duties of Life, and a Wife worthy fuch a Hufband. He was the fifth Son of William Squire, of Uskelf, in the Weft-Riding of Yorkshire, Efq; remarkable in our unhappy Civil Wars for his unwearied Loyalty and Courage, by Ann his fecond Wife, Daughter of William Savile, of Copley, in the fame County, Efq; noted alfo for his Loyalty, by Jane his Wife, only Sifter and Heiress to John Lord Darcy, of Afton, in the faid Weft-Riding of the County of York. Robert Squire' was born at Ufkelf Manor in the Year 1648, and died at York, Oct. 8, 1707, where, as Proctor, he practifed the Civil Law, till being elected to ferve his Country in Parliament, he reprefented the Borough of Scarbrough. He was married the 13th Day of December, 1684, to Prifcilla, only Child of Edward Bower, of Bridlington-Key, in the Eaft-Riding of Yorkshire, Merchant, who was only Son of William Bower, of Clenton, in the North-Riding of the fame County, Gent. She was born Jan. 19, 1660, and died the 30th of the fame Month, 1711. They had one Son and two Daughters; the Son named Robert died an Infant, and is buried near this Place.

The Daughters Prifcilla and Jane furvive them; and Prifcilla is fince married to Bryan Cook, Efq; eldest Son to Sir George Cook, of Wheatley, Bart. Michael-le-Belfrey. Stables, William, Efq; Barrister at Law, Sept. 30, 1774, aged 74.
