Small 8vo. In Two Parts. I. German-English cloth, 5s. II. English-German, cloth, 4s. Complete in 1 vol. cloth, 7s. 6d. Strongly bound in leather, 9s.

As the distinctive feature of this Dictionary is the ciation as well as the meaning of each word, its utility to the pronunnumerous class of self-educating students, who do not enjoy the benefit of oral instruction from a native of Germany, must be obvious. To such persons, and to others also, it is a great advantage to see the correct pronunciation of every word at a glance. Various technical terms, relating to commerce, science, the arts, &c., have also been inserted, all of them being adapted to the present advanced state of knowledge.

NEW JOURNAL OF POPULAR SCIENCE.

THE want of a medium of communication between men of science and the more intelligent portion of the reading community, to whom this branch of knowledge affords topics of interest, has long been felt; and although this is clearly indicated by the fact that no literary magazine is now deemed complete without its scientific articles, yet these, whilst stimulating the public taste in the right direction, have increased the necessity for a special organ for the more general dissemination of scientific knowledge. In order to meet this requirement as far as possible, it is proposed to publish,—

THE REVIEW OF POPULAR SCIENCE,
