MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

5 JUNE 1967

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Korean Cultural

and Freedom Foundation, Inc., was held at the main office, 1028 Connecticut Avenue N. W., Washington, D. C. at 2:00 p.m. on June 5, 1967.

The following persons were present:

General Graves B. Erskine
Ambassador You Chan Yang
Mr. Yves M. Coty

Col. Bo Hi Pak

General Erskine acted as Chairman, and Col. Pak acted as

secretary thereof. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and unanimously approved.

General Erskine announced Mr. Coty's desire to resign from his post as Vice President of Finance, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, simply because of his impossible situation which occurred recently in relationship with his private business. Here, a drastic change has come about and, therefore, it needs his full attention. General Erskine therefore recommended that his resignation be accepted, Ambassador Yang seconded the motion, and it was unanimously carried.

RESOLVED: Mr. Y. M. Coty has resigned from the
office of Vice President of Finance and as a member
of the Board of Directors of this Foundation as of
this date, and the Foundation expressed gratitude for
his services rendered during his tenure.

General Erskine also expressed the viewpoint that his is an

impossible situation relative to continuing his present duty as President and Chairman as well as Executive Director of ROFA. This job requires full attention and the Foundation needs intensive operation. General Erskine's other commitments, upon which his livelihood depends, does not leave him with sufficient time to devote to Foundation affairs.

General Erskine expressed his opinion that the Foundation

has a tremendous goal and a great and noble concept, and that these
need to be developed with hard work and much effort in order to properly
pioneer and reach its ultimate target. He simply cannot continue in the
present situation where he cannot do anything on behalf of the Foundation.
Therefore, he requested the committee to give serious consideration to
this and accept his resignation for the good of the Foundation. Ambassador
Yang regretted very much the necessity of this but he stated that, under
the circumstances, we must agree to accept his resignation. It was carried
unanimously by the committee.

RESOLVED: General Graves B. Erskine, USMC Ret.,
resign from the post of President and Chairman of
the Board of the Korean Cultural and Freedom Founda-
tion as well as Executive Director of ROFA.

The Foundation expressed regret, as well as gratitude to the

dynamic leadership demonstrated by the General during his tenure.

It was expressed that Ambassador Yang must serve as Chair

man of the Board and President of the Foundation. Ambassador Yang approved that Col. Bo Hi Pak will become Executive Vice President to carry out the day-to-day operations of the Foundation.

Ambassador Yang further reported to the Board that in order to

meet the required goal for funds for the operation of Radio of Free Asia, the Foundation must organize several benefit performances by the Little Angels while they are touring the United States. This fund-raising activity in relation with the Little Angels could be organized in Baltimore under the direction of Mr. Charles H. Flanders and in San Francisco

under the direction of Mr. Forrest Tancer. Other state committees can

be organized wherever dedicated volunteer support can be obtained.

This motion was duly seconded by Colonel Pak and the following

resolution was made

RESOLVED that the benefit performances of the Little Angels shall
be executed in the city of Baltimore in the form of a benefit dinner
with a performance by the Little Angels, under the direction of
Mr. Charles H. Flanders.

RESOLVED that a benefit performance of the Little Angels shall be
executed in the city of San Francisco under the direction of Mr.
Forrest Tancer, Director of the Korean Cultural and Freedom
Foundation, Inc.

RESOLVED that state committees of Radio of Free Asia shall be organized in Maryland, Northern California, and Southern California as it is deemed appropriate. Wherever dedicated volunteer support can be obtained this Foundation will organize more state or city committees for Radio of Free Asia.

There being no further business, the Meeting was adjourned.
