in repair the faid Highways comprised in the faid Old District; and for putting in Execution all other the Powers by this Act given relating to the faid Old District; and that they the faid Trustees, together with the Right Honourable Trustees for Hugh Percy commonly called Earl the New DifPercy, the Honourable Sir William Stanhope, Knight of the Bath, the Right Honourable Welbore Ellis, the Honourable George Shirley, the Honourable Horace Walpole, Sir George Pocock, Knight of the Bath, Sir William Eaft, Baronet, Major General John Parker, Major General Cyrus Trapaud, Richard Owen Cambridge, James Whitchurch, James Chamnefs, Peter Lewis Perrin, the Reverend Samuel Hemming, Richard Holden, William Lifter, John Archambo, Jofeph Hickey, Charles Woodcock, Robert Hudson, George Kent, John Fridenberg, Alexander Macpherfon, Edward Lyde, Edward Holden, and John Grimes, fhall be, and they and their Succeffors to be elected in manner herein-after mentioned

Qualification

tioned are hereby appointed Truf tees for furveying, ordering, alter ing, turning, widening, repairing, and keeping in repair the faid Highways comprised in the faid New District, and for putting in Execution all other the Powers by this Act given relating to the said New District.

And be it further enacted, by the of 'Truftces. Authority aforefaid, That no Perfon fhall be capable of acting as a Truftee in the Execution of this Act, unless he fhall be, in his own Right, or in the Right of his Wife, in the actual Poffeffion and Enjoyment or Receipt of the Rents and Profits of Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, of the clear yearly Value of one hundred Pounds, or shall be Heir apparent of fome Perfon having fuch Eftate of the clear yearly Value of two hundred Pounds, or poffeffed of or intitled unto a perfonal Eftate to the Amount or Value of two thousand Pounds: And if any Perfon, hereby deemed inca-> pable to act, fhall prefume to act, every

every fuch Perfon fhall for every fuch Offence forfeit and pay the Sum of fifty Pounds, to any Perfon or Perfons who fhall inform and fue for the fame; to be recovered in any of his Majefty's Courts of Record at Westminster by Action of Debt, or on the Cafe, wherein no Effoign, Protection, or Wager of Law, nor more than one Imparlance shall be allowed; and the Perfon fo profecuted shall prove that he is fo qualified, or otherwife shall pay the faid Penalty, without any other Proof or Evidence on the Part of the Profecutor, than that fuch Perfon hath acted as a Trustee in the Execution of this A&.

Place of

And be it further enacted, by the Time and Authority aforefaid, That the said Meeting.

Trustees for the Old District, or any five or more of them, fhall meet together upon the faid fourteenth Day after the paffing of this Act, at the Three Pidgeons in the Town of Brentford, and that the faid Truftees for the New District, or any five or more of them, fhall meet together

together upon the fifteenth Day (unless the fame fhall be Sunday, and in that cafe upon the fixteenth Day) after the paffing of this Act at the Phanix in the Town of Ifleworth; and fhall refpectively proceed to the Execution of this Act, and fhall then and from time to time afterwards refpectively adjourn themfelves to meet at fuch Times and Places as the faid Trustees for the

faid refpective Districts, or any five or more of them, fhall think proper or convenient: And if it fhall at any Time happen in either District, that there fhall not meet a sufficient Number of Trustees to act or to adjourn, then and in fuch Cafe the Clerk to the Trustees for such Difmay adjourn trict fhall appoint another Meeting to be held at the fame Place on that Day fortnight, and fhall caule Notice thereof in Writing to be affixed on all the Turnpikes within the faid District then erected, at least feven Days before fuch Meeting.

Provided always, That three Trustees in either Diftrict fhall be fufficient

fufficient for the Purpose of adjourning, and that in cafe the Treasurer to the Trustees, or any three of the Trustees for either District refpectively, shall think it neceffary that a Meeting should be held between the Times of Adjournment, it shall and may be lawful for fuch Treafurer, or three Trustees, to appoint a Meeting to be held, caufing Notice of the Time and Place of fuch Meeting to be affixed in like manner as aforefaid on all the Turnpikes within such District, feven Days at leaft before fuch Meeting; and the Proceedings of the refpective Truftees at fuch Meeting fhall be as valid and effectual, to all Intents and Purposes, as if fuch Trustees had at their laft Meeting adjourned to fuch: Time and Place.
