Diese aus dem Nachlasse des Hrn. Rhind stammende, jetzt im British Museum aufbewahrte, in hieratischer Schrift abgefasste Papyrusrolle, ist beiläufig 1700 Jahre vor Christi Geburt nach dem Vorbild einer älteren Schrift verfasst, welch letztere bis 2000 vor Chr. hinaufreicht. Sie enthält eine für die Bedürf nisse des Landmannes zurechtgemachte Darstellung der verschiedenen Theile der Mathematik: Arithmetik, Stereometrie und Geometrie.
