Winslow (Catherine M. R.)-Yesterdays with Actors. 12mo. cloth, pp. 201. Boston. 10s.

The writer was for many years on the stage. It is from her own experience and friendships that she draws the reminiscences and anecdotes of actors and actresses with which this handsome volume is filled. Charlotte Cushman, Forrest, Brougham, Laura Keene, John Wilkes Booth, Sothern, and many others equally famous are the subjects of papers as free from scandal and ill nature as they are rich in sympathy and a real appreciation of artistic merit. The book is unusually attractive in get-up. It is filled with portraits, both large and small; the edges are uncut, the page narrow, and margins broad.
