CHINA BRANCH OF THE ROYAL ASIATIC SOCIETY.

Cette Société a été fondée le 5 Janvier 1847 sous le nom de « Philosophical Society of China ». Son premier président était le Major H. P. Burn. Le 19 du même mois, le nom fut changé en celui de « The Asiatic Society of China », les règlements furent adoptés, les officiers furent nommés (la liste du 5 ayant été annulée) et Sir John F. Davis fut élu président. La séance d'inauguration eut lieu le vendredi 15 Février 1847. La Société asiatique de Hong-kong n'existe plus depuis longtemps. Elle a publié six volumes ou cahiers de mémoires :
