Some copies have after the date, "And sold by R. and J. Dodsley, in Pall-Mall, London. There are copies on large paper. Wight's copy sold for forty dollars in 1863. The memoir was written by Governor Pownall. The book was published at quarter of a piece of eight. The map is a reduced but improved copy of a former publication by the same author, but many copies do not possess it. Some copies are colored; it is made up in part from actual surveys, and in part from reliable American authorities, and is a very desirable addition. See "M. Rev.," xiv. 28.

The Laura who composed some of these poems was the famous Mrs. Elizabeth Ferguson (Miss Graeme). The list of 989 subscribers includes Gov. Franklin, of New Jersey; Gov.
