FOREWORD

FORMAT OF HEARINGS ON THE REGULATION OF PESTICIDES

The Department Operations, Research, and Foreign Agriculture Subcommittee conducted six public hearings on a range of pesticide regulatory issues during the first session of the 98th Congress. These hearings are printed in a four-volume set which includes all testimony, correspondence between the Subcommittee and Executive Branch agencies, material submitted for the record, and the DORFA Subcommittee staff report entitled "Regulatory Procedures and Public Health Issues in the EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs." The volumes contain the following material:

Volume I:

A. Public Hearings: February 22 and 23, 1983 in Washington, D.C.-"Review of Staff Report Regulatory Procedures and Public Health Issues in the EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs.""
