THIS evening teh-makers

'HIS evening the Proteftant Affociation was held at Coach-makers Hall, pursuant to public advertisement.

At half past fix, the hall was quite full, and exceedingly crowded. Lord George Gordon took the chair exactly at feven, and addreffed the meeting for near half an hour. His Lordship obferved, that the Popish Bill was carried through both Houses of Parliament with fuch amazing rapidity, that the people had not time to form an oppofition, or to make themselves acquainted with the pernicious confequences that must attend its paffing into a law: that the indulgence given to Popery, by the repeal of the Act of William the Third, was inconfiftent with the principles
