The second part of this valuable work is nowhere to be found. Was it really published? It is said to have been destroyed by the aristo

cratic families of Venezuela on account of its containing the history of their beginnings, which were in many cases nothing less than aristocratic. But this story appears rather improbable. José de Oviedo y Baños, brother to the then bishop Oviedo of Sotomayor, was himself a nobleman, and certainly would not have spoken regardlessly of his aristocratic friends. Could any bibliographer find out the truth? The RECORD Would, doubtless, publish any information on that point.
