The past tense is formed regularly, as పంపబడినాను or పంప pampa-baḍi-nánu or pampa-baḍi-tini, and it has also a contracted form which is most commonly used, namely, wowwo pampa-baḍḍánu. 143. Verbs can be converted into a reflective form, that is, they can be used in the middle voice, by adding konu, to buy, to the root. Each verb thus altered is conjugated like konu, in all its parts, with the exception of the infinitive mood and of the first person singular imperative, which in konu, to buy, are respectively kona, and konu, but in the auxiliary form both become skó. Thus: cheppu, to say or speak, becomes pcheppu-konu, to speak for oneself. 145. Verbs whose roots end in syllable into su before receiving the addition of ♪♫ yu change this konu. Thus: chéyu, to do, as a reflective verb, be comes chésu-konu, to do or act for oneself. 146. In verbs consisting of two short syllables the initial lo of konu, is generally doubled. Thus: konu-kkonu, to buy for oneself. 147. Certain verbs ending in x gu, drop the final gu in composition, and the initial k, of Thus: aḍugu, to ask, becomes to beg, or to ask for oneself. (ix.) CAUSAL VERBS. konu, is doubled. aḍu-kkonu, 148. As a general rule, all verbs, except those ending intsu, can be converted into causals by changing the final u of the root into intsu. Thus: y cheppu, to say, o cheppintsu, to cause to speak; vow anţu, to touch, o anțintsu, to cause to touch; do, ovo chéyintsu, to cause to be done. chéyu, to 149. Verbs ending in tsu generally form the causal by changing the final tsu of the root into 20 pintsu, and tstsu into oppintsu; and, if the penultimate is an u, changing it, for the sake of euphony, into i.
