With one end attached to the bulb, the other can conveniently remain in a vessel placed between the patient's knees, or in any convenient position, or remain unattached till wanted. The hose may be used or not. For those who prefer a tunnel (Fig. 3), one is furnished with the instrument; as also a second stop-cock (Fig. 3), which I find useful if attached to the head of the catheter, in keeping the bed-clothes dry when the bulb is to be removed.
